Me

I’m Ashly Moore. I live in Seattle with two beautiful, unruly children, my sweet and sexy husband, and a truly neurotic cat. I am a writer and had hoped (in the bloom of my youth) to write as a career. Over the years, I have returned to that hope again and again, only to be rapidly distracted by life’s demanding little details. These days, I write as a hobby rather than a craft. I write articles for the PTA newsletter and donation appeals for various non-profits. I have dabbled in movie reviews and grant proposals. It isn’t what I aspired to, but I guess there’s always time to change.

Many of my friends and family have suggested that I start a blog. After years of toying with this idea, I have finally launched myself into cyberspace with the help of my brother-in-law Dan and my sister Erin (Thanks guys!). I am hoping that this opportunity will serve to motivate, inspire and generally get me off my ass towards a career as a writer.

Here are some of my identifying features:

  • I am the oldest of seven children
  • I grew up Mormon, but as an adult, decided that the institution no longer had anything to offer me.
  • I run many miles a week to preserve my sanity and have run three half-marathons during the last year.
  • I love movies and see one almost every Monday night with friends.
  • Yoga is one of my passions; but I am not a purist, by any means.
